Sparta Residents Given Opportunity To Learn More About Council Actions

As a local resident, it is natural to want to know more about what is happening in your local area and to have the opportunity to make your voice heard. Sparta Board of Mayor and Alderman meetings are regular meetings which are open to the public. Minutes are also available online, so you can review recent decisions. So far this year, the sessions included such topics as:

    •    Hiring part-time workers for the local water plant.
    •    Authorizing bids for sewer line upgrades.
    •    Annexing of disused lands.
    •    The approval of licenses for parades or temporary events (such as beer tents).

Meetings are held at 5 PM on the first and third Thursday of every month. You will find them on the second floor of Sparta City Hall.?
