Water Damage Can Compound Fire Damage
7/2/2024 (Permalink)
Putting out a fire requires a lot of water. That water can cause a lot of damage by itself.
How Water Compounds Fire Damage
The consequences of a fire at a commercial building in Crossville, TN, can include thousands of dollars in damage to structure materials and contents. A burned or singed structure and contents are only a part of the aftermath of many fires. If sprinklers or hoses were utilized to extinguish the fire, water cleanup is probably also going to be necessary. Find out more about how water compounds fire damage.
Standing Water
As a fire burns through building materials and contents, sprinklers and fire hoses can release hundreds or thousands of gallons of water into a structure. Water intensifies damage caused by a fire in many ways including the following:
- Excessive weight
- Increased risk of structural failure
- Increased risk of microbial growth
Sprinklers and hoses release clean water. As soon as this water mixes with soot and smoke, it becomes a highly contaminated Category Three water damage. Before fire and smoke damage cleanup can take place, all standing water must be removed from a structure.
Staining
The chances of staining increases rapidly as long as residual moisture remains in a structure. Soot and smoke damage become more set in whenever water is present. If water cleanup takes place as soon as possible, restoration measures may still be sufficient to fix partial damage. Burned or singed materials must be replaced.
Structural Damage
It only takes one inch of standing water throughout an area to possibly add thousands of pounds of weight to a structure. A building with severe fire damage may be likely to give in to structural damage if standing water is present. Remaining moisture can also be detrimental to weakened building materials. Fast cleanup and mitigation procedures may limit the extent of damage.
Many fire cleanup jobs involve some water damage. Restoration professionals have experience with the requirements of water cleanup after a fire. If water is standing at a fire-damaged structure in Crossville, TN, the owners of a building or business should document this damage for a commercial insurance claim and proceed with mitigation.
Getting a Commercial Insurance Policy Can Protect Your Business
9/8/2023 (Permalink)
One of the first things you need to purchase for your business in Crossville, TN is a commercial insurance policy. To make sure you get the right coverage for your business, you need to know what is valuable to your company.
Include All Of Your Valuables
Be sure to know and list all of your corporate assets before sitting down with an agent. This list should include items that are costly to replace or are critical to guaranteeing that your business functions on a daily basis. This list you come up with will help you decide what you need to have covered.
Important business assets should consist of those things that can be impacted by natural disasters as well as criminal activities, including ice and hail storms, mold or water contamination, auto theft or vandalism, and major events such as hurricane and fire damage.
Include Large and Small Items In Your Commercial Insurance Policy
• Manufacturing equipment, delivery trucks, and fleet vehicles
• The main office space and exterior buildings, such as warehouses, storage facilities, equipment sheds and security offices
• Inventory and packaging, packing materials and shipping containers
• Major office equipment such as phone systems, hard drives, computer systems and copy machines
Understand How the Potential For Fire Damage Can Affect Your Policy
One of the biggest factors that impacts insurance costs is how much fire damage your facility could withhold. Location is a major concern. Being in a city that has direct access to firefighters and fire restoration companies is better than being in a remote location. Close proximity to fire hydrants and a fire station will impact your premiums. An old, all-wood building is considered less safe, and therefore more expensive, than an office in a newer facility constructed with fire resistant materials. Generally speaking, an office building is cheaper to insure than a building that houses hazardous materials and areas, such as gas stations and commercial kitchens.
When getting a commercial insurance policy in Crossville, TN be sure to compare all of your assets against losses including fire damage and other catastrophes. It's also a good idea to take into consideration how your building's location, construction, and contents may impact your premiums.

Clean Ducts Improve Air Quality in Crossville Restaurants
SERVPRO® Provides Commercial Cleaning and Sanitizing of Ductwork in Your Crossville Business
Keeping a restaurant running efficiently is something that business owners in the food service industry strive to do. You do your best to keep the costs and outgoing expenses down so in turn your overall profit margin is better. One of the ways that you can do this, and also improve the experience that customers have in your establishment, is to ensure that all aspects of your facility are running at optimal levels.
Something that is commonly overlooked is the ductwork attached to your HVAC system. Between use and time, these pathways become partially blocked and clogged with debris, dust, dirt and even germs or bacteria. Duct Cleaning is a service that our SERVPRO of Cumberland, Morgan & White Counties professionals can perform for your business, which can lead to reducing your overhead and providing a better eating experience for your customers.
Each time your HVAC unit kicks on, air is moving through the ductwork with built-up debris and dust. These particles are circulating through the dining areas and kitchen of your restaurant. While a lot of this can’t be seen by even the most perceptive of observers, most business owners do not consider this possibility to be acceptable in their food preparation or serving areas. Indoor air quality is a sometimes-forgotten feature that adds to the pleasantness of a restaurant.
Cleaning the ductwork in your business can give the air conditioner and heating units a lighter workload making it easier to get air through the system. Less strain on the system leads to less electricity use, which leads to a lower utility bill.
It is important to know that your Crossville SERVPRO professionals can work around your schedule. Often your restaurant does not need to close or reduce operating hours to complete a duct cleaning. With special equipment that seals tightly over vents, dust, mold spores, pollen, and debris pulled from the ducts do not get spread throughout the building. The additional benefits of protecting against microbial growth and keeping the air in your business smelling pleasant for customers is something that will be beneficial to your bottom line.
If you would like to experience the benefits of duct cleaning for your restaurant or any other commercial or residential building, our professionals can plan the whole process from beginning to end. This will make it easier for you and get you back in your home or business faster. “Like it never even happened.”
If you would like more information on hiring a team experienced in Duct Cleaning Call SERVPRO® of Cumberland, Morgan & White Counties at 931-250-5333.

How Can Crossville Commercial Flood Damage Be Removed Rapidly?
12/13/2021 (Permalink)
Groundwater contains contaminants. Call SERVPRO to safely remove floodwater from your business.
SERVPRO has Professional-Grade Extraction Equipment to leave Crossville Properties Water-Free
When heavy rains cause water to enter a Crossville property, the water damage needs to get removed as quickly as possible to end the spread. How the water entered, and its surfaces have a lot to do with whether it will be standing water or recede.
SERVPRO technicians are ready to handle Crossville commercial flood damage cleanup 24/7 because property owners should not and often cannot wait until the following business day to start the restoration process. When storms bring water in through a leaking roof or broken window, this type of water is clean as long as it has not aged beyond 24 hours; after that, the potential for harmful bacteria to build up has begun, and it needs careful handling.
Hazards of Groundwater
Groundwater is a whole other problem in a commercial property. This type of water can bring in multiple hazards. It can contain anything it has contacts including chemicals, raw sewage, and debris such as nails and glass. SERVPRO techs routinely treat this water with a professional biocide before extraction to make it safer to handle.
Benefits of Using an Outside Restoration Company
Commercial flood damage should always get professionally mitigated. Encountering floodwater can be hazardous, and that is why SERVPRO technicians wear protective clothing, including respirators. The reason is that the airborne water vapor can contain dangerous elements that could be aspirated, and that fact is impossible to know through a visual inspection. The techs typically test the water upon arrival to determine anything potentially harmful in the water and treat it with professional biocides or antifungals accordingly. Using SERVPRO allows business owners to have the peace of mind knowing:
- Knowledgeable techs will contain and remove equipment and contents as needed for the best outcome
- The extraction and drying gets performed using professional equipment
- Disinfection and proactive treatments for mold leave a work environment that is sanitized and safe
SERVPRO of Cumberland, Morgan & White Counties at (931) 250-5333 brings professional flood damage restoration services to Crossville commercial properties to make it "Like it never even happened."

Cleaning Water Damage in Your Crossville Diner After a Sink Leak
8/11/2021 (Permalink)
Commercial kitchen sinks are common places for water leaks. SERVPRO is always on call to quickly mitigate the damage.
SERVPRO Can Help Keep Your Business Open During Water Removal Service
Plumbing leaks in your commercial kitchen can be very frustrating, and leaks under your sink in your Crossville diner can be even more perplexing. Kitchen leaks can occur from various sources and can sometimes be mistaken for a leaking drain pipe. Pinpointing the source of the leak helps to expedite getting it fixed, but either way, it needs to be repaired right away.
The sink in your luncheonette in Crossville gets used every day, pretty much non-stop while you are open for business. Dealing with commercial water damage in Crossville from such a leak is not only inconvenient for your daily operations, but can pose a danger to your employees from wet flooring around the sink area. SERVPRO staff can come quickly to help you possibly fix the source of the leak, but at least to clean up any water and mitigate damage.
Safety During Water Removal Services
Structures that are water damaged, as well as some of our cleanup procedures, can create slip, trip, and fall hazards. Wet surfaces are usually slick, and power cords and equipment hoses can be a tripping hazard. Therefore, we post warning signs and alert your staff about such dangers while we are working.
People may not recognize the potential hazard of walking from a wet carpet to a hard floor. Wet shoes might not slip much on carpeting, but when someone steps onto hard flooring, a severe slip hazard is present. We ensure that everyone understands this hazard.
Power cords and hoses can become tangled during emergency SERVPRO services. During the stage of drying, cords can be a problem. We always tape down or gather cords with a Velcro belt or zip tie to avoid this danger.
After all the water and moisture are removed, we also sanitize the affected area to prevent any microbial growth. Moisture meters are also used to find any moisture which may be hidden.
SERVPRO of Cumberland, Morgan & White Counties understands the necessity to work quickly and thoroughly to get your business serving food. If your diner is located in Sparta, Lake Tansi, or Crossville, you can reach us at any time by dialing (931) 250-5333.
Cleaning and Drying Commercial Water Damage in Crossville

SERVPRO understands how serious water can damage the carpeting as well as other surfaces on your property, Call us for assistance with water removal.
Count on SERVPRO to Minimize Your Business Downtime After Water Intrusion
Flooding can shut down a Crossville business for a day or much longer. If there is an excessive amount of water, the time needed to repair and restore can take over a week.
Water damage affects Crossville businesses differently. The type of business determines how SERVPRO performs specific tasks and if the emphasis is on removal or cleaning. For a warehouse operation, drying the floors and lowering the interior humidity are the essential points. For a child care center, we place more initial emphasis on the cleanliness and safety of the facility.
Water Removal for Flooring
Carpets and the floor pads used to protect from falls trap a significant amount of water within and underneath them. Once we remove any standing water, our next step is to dry out the carpets and pads and the floor underneath. This service does depend on the amount of water, its cleanliness, and the cost-effectiveness of restoring rather than replacing.
To reduce the disruption to the business, we prefer lifting an entry and exit point for both and then using a series of air movers to force warm, dry air under the floor covering and across the concrete surface underneath.
Water Damage Repairs
Those are not the only items we check for water and rot. Drywall is very vulnerable when it becomes wet. If too water-logged, a panel can crumble at a touch or fall apart in the hands of someone trying to remove it. If the drywall is not too wet, technicians can dry it using air movers and box fans. We place the first devices to blow warm, dry air over the damp surface, adjusting the temperature and airflow speed against the amount of moisture trapped inside. The airflow forces moisture out of the affected panel and carries it in the direction of the box fan to blow it outside of the structure. Small holes can be drilled to inject circulating air to enhance the drying time.
Mold Inspection
For both drywall and floors, water damage also brings the potential threat of mold. In a childcare business, we recommend spraying every surface with an antifungal cleaner. In the case of carpets, allow SERVPRO technicians to use an anti-bacterial shampoo to ensure their cleanliness.
For some businesses, merely reopening the doors is not enough. SERVPRO of Cumberland, Morgan & White Counties understands that customer service sometimes means customer protection as well. We have decades of experience to help take care of every business, no matter how small their customers may be. Call us today at (931) 250-5333.

They Can Call a Certified Restorer Like SERVPRO to Perform Commercial Water Mitigation in their Crossville Business
Discovering a water leak in your business is not a pleasant situation. Sprinkler system malfunctions and roof fails can paralyze your business operations, forcing you to close your doors. Your next decision determines how extensive the damage spreads.
Hiring SERVPRO restorers to perform commercial water mitigation in your Crossville business is the best decision. We respond within the shortest time possible since we understand how fast water damage can spread. We act fast during our water mitigation process to ensure your business returns to its normal operations within a short period.
How do you dry a water-damaged business?
For an effective and fast mitigation process, we use advanced equipment and tools and unique but approved products. If the water has already saturated building materials, we remove it through evaporation and dehumidification.
We can use desiccant dehumidifiers with two 20-inch reinforced duct lines. The equipment uses chemicals called desiccants to absorb moisture. It produces heat that passes through the desiccant material to the affected area via one of the duct lines. After heating the affected area, the other duct line extracts moisture from the building. We prefer desiccant dehumidifiers since:
- The equipment acts effectively in drier and cooler conditions.
- It produces the driest air with the lowest vapor.
- The machine works effectively when the intake air is cooler and drier.
Do not allow water damage to be the reason for closing your business doors for days. Contact SERVPRO of Cumberland Morgan & White Counties for fast water mitigation services. We’re Faster To Any Size Disaster. Our emergency helpline is (931) 250-5333.

Hiring SERVPRO for Fire Damage Cleanup and Restoration Ensures Quality Results and That Your Crossville Business Does Not Miss a Beat
Not only is Crossville a lovely city located in Cumberland County, Tennessee, but it is also the county seat. Crossville is part of the greater Metropolitan Statistical area, and it had a population of 10,795 as of the time that the 2010 United States Census was taken. Often referred to as Middle Tennessee or the Golf Capital of the state, this is an excellent region to lay down roots or spend some time relaxing on your next vacation.
Learning About Crossville, Tennessee History Throughout the Years
Crossville began development at the location of a branch at the intersection of Great Stage Road. This is where Knoxville, TN, connected with the Nashville region, along with Kentucky Stock Road, which was a path for cattle drivers that joined both Middle Tennessee and Kentucky. This later extended further south into Chattanooga, Tennessee. This pair of roads are situated in rough parallel by today's US-70 and US-127.
Samuel Lambeth, an early American settler, opened up a storefront at this junction in approximately 1800. During this time, the small community in the region was known as Lambeth's Crossroads. The storefront got settled where the modern intersection of Stanley and Main Streets currently exists, just to the south of the local courthouse. Once a post office got established in the 1830s, this community then took on the Crossville name. During the early 1850s, a merchant named James Scott bought the Lambeth store, then renaming it Scott's Tavern.
In 1856, Cumberland County was formed, and Crossville became the county seat due to the proximity to the center of the county. Mr. Scott donated the first 40 acres so that the town square and courthouse could be developed.
Unfortunately, Cumberland County and Crossville fell victim to a lot of pillaging that took place during the Civil War. This was due in large part to how accessible the area was from the well-developed roads. This allowed both renegades and forces to come and go at will. Seeing how divided families and communities became so common, the residents suffered from a lot of battles and devastating guerilla warfare in the area. The county became separated because of the conflict, which resulted in a significant number of troops being sent from both sides.
Post World War I, US-70 assisted with the connection of the area/town and the local markets so that residents had better access to goods and products. More highways were constructed after World War II, which improved all transportation in the area by leaps and bounds.
Throughout the Great Depression, the Subsistence Homestead Division of the federal government put together a housing project located just south of the Crossville area. This was known by the name Cumberland Homesteads. The purpose of this project was to give smaller farms to hundreds of impoverished families in the region. The recreational area for this project later became the hub for the Cumberland Mountain State Park.
Crossville, Tennessee is a Wonderful Place to Visit or Put Down Roots
Perfectly situated, Crossville is just a short drive from several metropolitan cities. Not only that, but it also features an elevation of 2,000 feet, which allows for four seasons and plenty of outdoor possibilities. Whether you are someone who enjoys lakes and streams or you want to play a few rounds of golf, there is something for everyone.

How Do I Get Rid of Water Damage in My Pawn Shop?

Did your fire sprinkler somehow break and started leaking water everywhere in your Crossville store? Call SERVPRO to handle the issue.
Disaster Mitigation Technicians Can Remove Commercial Water Damage from Your Crossville Business
With summer on the horizon in Crossville, many business owners are likely not considering inspecting their indoor sprinkler systems. However, all it takes is a mechanical failure, overheated system, or corroded pipe to saturate structures and inventory.
When business owners need commercial water damage cleanup for Crossville establishments, SERVPRO technicians provide emergency-response mitigation that minimizes losses. These techs carefully monitor moisture levels throughout the cleanup process to ensure that surfaces return to a clean, dry condition.
How Corrosion Impacts Fire Sprinklers
Three simple ingredients are needed to allow for corrosion in a sprinkler system:
These components create electrochemical corrosion, which can eat through the pipes that feed your fire sprinklers. These holes can be as small as a pinhole and as large as a penny. National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)-prompted reports suggest that a whopping 73% of dry sprinkler systems experience significant amounts of corrosion after the 12.5-year mark.
One way businesses are extending the lifespan of their dry pipes is by replacing the pressurized air in their systems with nitrogen. This alternative works because nitrogen is an inert gas that does not trigger electrochemical corrosion due to the lack of oxygen.
How SERVPRO Dries Your Facilities
SERVPRO dries facilities with centrifugal air movers working in tandem with dehumidifiers. Here is how it works:
- Air movers pull moisture off of surfaces and into the air.
- This moisture is then taken in by the dehumidifier and passed over refrigerant coils, silica gel, and similar systems to separate the water from the air.
- The dehumidifier collects water for disposal while expelling warm, dry air.

Can I Continue to Run My Crossville Business After A Water Leak?
4/27/2020 (Permalink)
Did your retail establishment experience water damage? Call SERVPRO! We have the equipment and experience to quickly restore your business.
Yes, the Professionals at SERVPRO Use Low-Profile Equipment to Get You Back on Track
As any small business owner understands, it is critical to keep your Crossville business running, especially when a relatively minor water leak disrupts the usual routine. If your office shares walls with a neighboring business, you may need to mitigate damages in your storefront and your own.
What if Some of the Water Leaked Through to the Neighboring Business?
SERVPRO Technicians Work to Come Up with A Restoration Plan to Suit Both Businesses
You are sharing walls and pipes with your neighbors if you are dealing with commercial water damage in your Crossville strip-mall office. If the building sustains damage on both sides of a shared wall, SERVPRO can restore the damage of the impacted areas for both businesses.
After Technicians Dry the Excess Water, what are the Next Steps?
- Restoration Specialists Extract water with portable extraction equipment to ensure they remove as much moisture as possible.
- We dry the room by using dehumidifiers to pull moisture out of the air, filter the air, and then exhaust the air back out, so it is warm and dry.
- Technicians enhance drying by placing air movers throughout both businesses facing the walls at floor level to keep the warm, dry air from the dehumidifier moving.
What Damage Could Occur to the Building if I Do Not Tend to the water Quickly?
- Secondary water damage occurs to walls and flooring; if moisture sits on them for too long, they can become warped.
- Dangerous mold infestations may grow as they thrive on moisture and humidity and only need an organic source of food such as wood or drywall.
What About My Inventory and Stock?
Your investment in your inventory, stock, and fixtures certainly varies depending upon the type of small business you are running. Our crew makes every effort to protect these crucial aspects of your business. We can relocate to safe areas within the building or pack-out items, which can simplify the water extraction and drying processes and preserve your investments.

End the Constant Battle Against Microbial Growth Using Commercial Mold Damage Remediation in Sparta
12/30/2019 (Permalink)
We know what mold can do to your Sparta business, let us help you out.
Let SERVPRO be your go to for your Sparta mold damage.
A lunchtime cafe can suffer a substantial reputational hit if mold issues are present in any part of the dining area or kitchen. Not only do the odors of mold put customers off, but they can affect indoor air quality and hygiene standards. Unfortunately, mold does not just go away by itself. You may find that no matter how many times you clean mold, it keeps cropping up in the same areas every few days. If you notice recurring issues, you may want to consider contacting a professional remediation team. Microbial growth issues frequently go much deeper than surface appearance.
Our commercial mold damage remediation team here in Sparta works with small, medium-sized, and large businesses. The trick to dealing with mold is to remove the essential element it needs to live: water. Moisture runoffs can lead to damp spots, which in turn allow spores to proliferate into unhygienic mold colonies. You usually find microbial growth issues in areas where there is water, like washrooms, kitchens, or refrigerated counters. Storerooms for food stock may have inadequate insulation, which can increase the likelihood of mold growth.
Microbial growth is easy to spread, and it can spread quickly if you are not careful. Usually, our commercial response teams set up a containment zone to guard against the spread of mold. We may augment this zone with further decontamination areas, clean rooms as well as negative air pressure. We understand that temporarily shutting down some, or all, of your eatery, can hurt monthly revenues. This is why SERVPRO works with qualified technicians to ensure any downtime is kept to a minimum.
After the removal of mold is complete, you may notice lingering odors remain behind. Odor particles can stay in an indoor environment even after cleaning and disinfecting. This is especially true in malls where there is a lack of natural air circulation to replace odorous particles. SERVPRO can thoroughly fumigate your workspace using safe, water-based deodorants. Our powerful box fans can exchange the air quickly to ensure you get back in business as soon as possible.
Without professional remediation, mold can become a constant battle and a threat to the hygiene of your eatery. Contact SERVPRO of Cumberland, Morgan & White Counties at (931) 250-5333.

Even more extreme cases do not have to get drawn out for extended periods. Our professionals always carry a restore before replacing mentality, which is a commitment to saving our customers time and money with every phase of remediation.

We Help You Get Back To Business In Sparta After A Water Damage Disaster
8/27/2019 (Permalink)
Many times there is hidden water which contributes to the damage. SERVPRO employs the use of high-tech equipment when dealing with restoration.
Commercial Water Damage Repair And Restoration In Sparta
While outside flooding can cause problems around Sparta, most water intrusions come from common sources like a failed water heater, a split, overhead pipe, or some other plumbing issue. These problems may not draw as much attention as the Calfkiller River breaking its banks, but the results can be just as expensive when it comes to repairing or replacement of property.
A leaking or broken pipe is not an uncommon problem in fitness centers and spas around Sparta. Eliminating commercial water damage in these Sparta businesses takes skill and experience in demolition, repair, and restoration of the facility. SERVPRO response teams rapidly do all this so that the owner and her customers can get back to their regular routines.
The first action is to stop the source of water intrusion. The team leader shuts off the water as close to the leak point as possible so that other areas of the center can provide full service to customers as technicians work to resolve the issue.
Next, SERVPRO team members pull down the section of the wall or ceiling in front of the leak to expose the problem for repair. Technicians can make most repairs, but if they find a major problem, the team leader recommends bringing in a licensed plumber.
After completing repairs, technicians put everything back together. They replace any wall and ceiling frames too soaked by water for restoration, and then hang new wall panels and ceiling tile off them. Depending on the extent of the water damage, response teams can usually complete this in a day or two.
As technicians complete restoration, other team members clear the fitness center of the water. They use extraction wands and other devices to remove the majority, and then switch to long-handled squeegees to push any remaining trace of moisture out the nearest door.
SERVPRO of Cumberland, Morgan, & White Counties knows how important it is for customers and employees that every local business keeps its doors open. Our goal is to reopen every business here and in nearby communities like Crossville, Fairfield Glade, Lake Tansi as rapidly as possible after a plumbing or other water intrusion issue. Mitigating Commercial Fire Damage In A Crossville Dental Practice
Working in a historic building has its quirks, especially when dealing with adapting modern electrical fixtures in an older building. One faulty light fixture is all it takes to cause commercial fire damage in the waiting area of your private practice, and it can be challenging to ascertain how long it can take before you can get back to work. Foul smoke odors are off-putting enough, but potentially corrosive soot can damage finishes on wood and electronics if left alone.

The first step in addressing odor from any fire is to eliminate soot and residues from surfaces. Our SERVPRO team is equipped with EPA-registered disinfectants that can clean dry soot on surfaces before it can corrode items, especially those with plastic or metal components, in your waiting room. We can also clean the soot out of your vents with agitating tools such as augers, brushes, and air whips, in conjunction with portable vacuums, to prevent the spread of smoke odors throughout your office.
The next step after thorough manual cleaning of surfaces is eliminating odors on a particle level. We have several tools to combat this, from the HEPA air scrubber with a filter that can absorb 99.97% of airborne particles, odors, and gases with an activated carbon and potassium permanganate filter; to the thermal fogger, which emits a solvent-based mist of deodorizers that bind with odor particles to wipe out odors.

Roof Damages Can Flood Exam Rooms Of Your Crossville Clinic
Your Crossville clinic has expensive equipment and tools used to help treat and diagnose the patients that you see throughout the week. With only one severe weather incident, however, the structural integrity of the clinic’s roof can become compromised and allow moisture penetration. With the right level of damage to this critical defense, torrential rainfall and runoff can flow into your building unabated and find its way into examination rooms and office areas of your clinic.
One of the greatest concerns for flood damages in your Crossville medical facility is the inability to continue serving the community while these effects get restored by qualified professionals. Our SERVPRO professionals understand the severity of the situation and can help by responding fast to these emergencies with the advanced tools designed to dry up and clean the damaged areas quickly to get your doors open again to the patients you serve.
Another concern with spreading flood damages is the effect that this moisture can have on sensitive devices and equipment used to diagnose and treat patients that come into your facility. Our SERVPRO team can help with this by setting our Contents Department on the vital task of pack-outs for at-risk contents of your clinic to reduce this risk. These items can get stored safely in our warehouse after drying, and restoration work on the individual items has occurred as needed.
With a fast response to the emergency, there are many areas of your facility that can remain intact after thorough drying efforts from efficient equipment like our high-velocity air movers, dehumidifiers, and our injectidry system that can get used on wall cavities, ceiling materials, and flooring. We can use our moisture detection equipment and thermal imagery to identify lingering moisture that requires further drying efforts to ensure that we have eliminated dampness to avoid costly secondary effects like mold growth.
While you cannot predict when roof damage can allow flooding in your facility, you can prepare by knowing which restoration team can get there quickly with the expertise and equipment to help. Whenever disaster strikes, give our SERVPRO of Cumberland, Morgan & White Counties rapid response team a call at (931) 250-5333.

When our SERVPRO team comes into your commercial property with the goal of extracting, drying and recovering it, you can observe that the treatment of your hardwood floors will focus on preventing warping or buckling from becoming permanent. While you work hard to ensure that your Sparta bookstore is well stocked in the latest editions and the classics for the readers that frequent your store every day, you also should be mindful of unexpected events that could threaten your business and keep your doors closed to this adoring public. Having a plan in place to contend with a water loss incident, like knowing what professional restoration service to call, can save you time and money in the long run.
There are plenty of ways that water damage can affect your Sparta bookstore, even to the point of requiring water removal services. Whether faulty plumbing or appliances are to blame, or even a neighboring store is the culprit, the sense of immediacy is familiar to any of these. You want to make sure that you do not have to keep your doors closed for long if at all. One way to ensure this is to entrust your business to the experienced hands of our professional restorers.
From the moment that our experienced SERVPRO professionals get the call about the emergency in your business, we respond quickly to help limit the damage to your building and to the stock inside. With so many hardcover and paperback books that you have on the shelves, excessive moisture could ruin them and prevent them from ever getting sold.
For this reason, our SERVPRO technicians can work quickly to remove this stock from the affected area and keep it from getting exposed to the moisture while the restoration efforts are underway. This may sound simple, but anytime papers, documents or books are exposed to moisture degradation begins and possibly even mold development. We cannot always gurantee the complete restoration of these items on your shelves. Immediate drying or freeze-drying with a process called lyophilization can often achieve positive results. Once these complete, and your store is ready for business once again, these novels and publications can get returned to the store to their rightful positions on the shelves.
While running a business might be challenging enough, the last thing you need is to shoulder the burden of excessive water damage all on your own. Give our SERVPRO of Cumberland, Morgan, & White Counties experienced water restoration technicians a call anytime at (931) 250-5333 to help you clean up the mess and get your business back to ship shape.

Removing Commercial Mold Damage In Crossville

In a business like a Crossville pet store, commercial mold damage cleanup centers around the property, rather than the structure.
Commercial Mold Damage
Mold spores are present in every Crossville business. The only difference between them is how a restoration service cleans and removes the mold. A pet store, as an example, is treated differently than a standard office setting.
In a business like a Crossville pet store, commercial mold damage cleanup centers around the property, rather than the structure. In our experience, SERVPRO restoration teams do not have to deal with carpets and much of the building material damage that often comes with a mold infestation.
With a pet store, our teams deal primarily with the retail, front of the business and the storage area in the back. There may also be a private office for the manager, but it is usually small, and our team restores it fairly quickly.
Mold only grows when there is enough water, a food source, and the temperature is between 68 and 86 degrees. While mold does not usually consume padded items like dog beds or scratching posts, the infestation renders them unsafe to sell, since mold can ruin the appearance of an item and the spores can adversely affect some people.
The spores also are easily spread by air currents and by ordinary foot traffic. That means there can be multiple points of infestation, which makes finding the source of the mold more difficult for a SERVPRO inspector.
If there is mold across much of the store, our restoration teams use dry and wet methods. To begin with, they wipe down every surface, including the walls, with dry sponges. The dry method often removes most of the spores and allows us to leave the animals, fish, and reptiles in place.
When this is not enough, our teams use an anti-fungal cleaner to wet a sponge. The cleaner breaks up the mold and lets the technician wipe it from the surface. The wet wiping method usually cleans up the rest of the mold from tables, storage racks, cardboard boxes, and most exposed property.
If there is a small amount of mold left or the item needs a more thorough cleaning, our team may need the store owner to move the animals from the affected area. Our technicians then either spray everything in place or use a vacuum with a HEPA filter to remove the mold. For very thick layers of mold, they may need to use both methods.
Our goal at SERVPRO of Cumberland, Morgan & White Counties is to help you reopen your business as quickly and safely as possible. If you need our assistance, contact our team today at (931) 250-5333 with any questions or to schedule a visit.
